Les parois du r\u00e9cif sont parsem\u00e9es de crevasses sur toute leur longueur. Populaire pour la plong\u00e9e d\u00e9rivante, son paysage est d\u00e9cor\u00e9 de tours de corail pilier allant de 3 m\u00e8tres \u00e0 45 m\u00e8tres et convient mieux aux plongeurs interm\u00e9diaires \u00e0 exp\u00e9riment\u00e9s. <\/p>\n<p>La face du mur commence \u00e0 environ 10 pieds, descendant lentement sur son devant jusqu'\u00e0 environ 30-60 pieds plus bas, apr\u00e8s quoi elle atteint le fond sableux \u00e0 120 pieds. Pr\u00e8s du fond, le r\u00e9cif prend une pente douce et abrite des communaut\u00e9s de coraux mous, de raies aigles et du rare hippocampe.  <\/p>\n<p>Beaucoup des crevasses dans la partie sup\u00e9rieure du r\u00e9cif ont \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9es par des coul\u00e9es d'eau \u00e0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 cette paroi sous-marine \u00e9tait hors de l'eau. Certaines des anfractuosit\u00e9s cr\u00e9ent des surplombs, partiellement et compl\u00e8tement recouverts, formant des sites d'inspection de plong\u00e9e magnifiques et int\u00e9ressants. Le corail pilier ici court perpendiculairement au rivage de Roatan. Le snorkeling est \u00e9galement populaire ici, et des pieuvres, des poissons tambours tachet\u00e9s, des poissons trompettes et des crevettes corail tigr\u00e9es sont souvent trouv\u00e9s en train de se nourrir pr\u00e8s du r\u00e9cif.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canyon Reef lives up to its name, providing divers with a medley of ravines, and tunnels to explore in a double-walled environment that resembles a giant canyon.
