Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 sous l'eau pendant de nombreuses ann\u00e9es, le navire a \u00e9t\u00e9 renflou\u00e9 par Rocky Jones de Utila, avant d'\u00eatre une nouvelle fois \u00e9chou\u00e9 sur le r\u00e9cif par une temp\u00eate. Il a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 renflou\u00e9 une deuxi\u00e8me fois et partiellement immerg\u00e9 intentionnellement pour \u00e9viter tout nouveau dommage caus\u00e9 par la temp\u00eate.<\/p>\n<p>El Aguila est situ\u00e9 \u00e0 33 m\u00e8tres de profondeur et \u00e0 une courte distance de Sandy Bay. AKR a achet\u00e9 le navire \u00e0 la recherche d'un nouveau site d'\u00e9pave pour les plongeurs, car les \u00e9paves communes \u00e0 coque en bois de l'\u00e9poque commen\u00e7aient \u00e0 se d\u00e9t\u00e9riorer et \u00e0 dispara\u00eetre.
